Del Mar will debut its inaugural Bing Crosby Season on Friday and the featured race is the $75,000 Kathryn Crosby Stakes. The race will be contested at one mile on the turf and has attracted a full field of twelve fillies and mares with two additional on the also-eligible list.

Wishing Gate has been installed as the 7-2 morning line favorite for trainer Tom Proctor and will have Drayden Van Dyke in the irons. Bred and owned by Glen Hill Farm, the four-year-old daughter of Indian Charlie is winless from four starts this year with her best effort coming two starts back with a runner-up finish in the John C. Mabee (G2) at Del Mar.  A multiple graded stakes winner, she is scheduled to break from post position eight.

Kitten's Point trying to return to form after First Lady flop

Second choice at 9-2 is Kitten’s Point for trainer Graham Motion. A homebred for George Strawbridge, Jr.’s Augustin Stable, the chestnut filly has won three of her ten career starts and is trying to rebound after a seventh-place finish in the First Lady (G1) at Keeneland. She has one win from four starts this year which came against optional claiming competition in February. Aaron Gryder will be aboard from post ten.

Burning Arch is undefeated from two starts at Del Mar

Also in the field is Burning Arch at 8-1 on the morning line for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. The three-year-old daughter of Arch, a $440,000 purchase as a yearling, is a perfect two for two at Del Mar and will be trying stakes company for the first time. Elvis Trujillo, aboard for both victories over the turf course at Del Mar over the summer, will remain in the irons and they will break from post position four.
