Rock Fall Making Stakes Debut in $250,000 True North

Todd Pletcher will saddle Rock Fall as the favorite at odds of 5-2 on the morning line. Purchased for $250,000 as a yearling by Stonestreet Stables, the dark bay son of Speightstown has won four of his five starts and will be stepping up to stakes company for the first time. Two for two this year, he was last seen winning an optional claiming race at Keeneland by nine-lengths as the favorite. Javier Castellano will be back aboard and they will break from the outside post.

Clearly Now trying to earn first win of the year

Second choice at 7-2 is Clearly Now for trainer Brian Lynch. A five-year-old son of Horse Greeley, the dark bay has won five of his eighteen starts and is a multiple graded stakes winner. After a seventh-place finish in the Carter (G1), he rebounded to finish second, beaten only a neck, in a minor stakes race at Belmont Park last time out. Jose Lezcano will be back aboard and they will break from post position seven.

Dads Caps fresh after sharp Carter (G1) score

 

Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is Dads Caps for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. A five-year-old son of Discreet Cat, he was fifth in the True North (G2) last year and has won five of his eighteen starts. He has been on the board in all three starts this year and was last seen winning the Carter (G1) for the second consecutive year. Jose Ortiz will be in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post positon five.
