Shore Runner Seeking Fourth Straight Win in $100,000 Troy Stakes

Category : News - Thu 20/08/2015 - 14:23 EDT

Shore Runner has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer Joe Sharp. A five-year-old son of More Than Ready, he has been on the board in fourteen of his sixteen starts and is a seven-time winner. He made the successful step up to stakes competition last time out and won the Lucky Coin Stakes at Saratoga to earn his third consecutive victory. Kendrick Carmouche will be aboard and they will break from post position two.

Break in class for Something Extra

Second choice at 5-2 on the morning line is Something Extra for trainer Gail Cox. A seven-year-old son of Indian Charlie, the veteran gelding is a multiple graded stakes winner and has nine total career victories. Winless since scoring in the Shakertown Stakes (G3) at Keeneland in April, he is trying to rebound on the minor class drop.  John Velazquez will be in the irons and they will break from the rail.

Go Blue or Go Home going for second consecutive win

Also in the field at morning line odds of 7-2 is Go Blue or Go Home for trainer Reade Baker.  A six-year-old son of Bluegrass Cat, he has won six of his nineteen starts and is coming out of a victory in the Highlander Stakes (G2) at Woodbine. That was his first victory in two years.  Luis Saez will be aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position three as he tries to earn his second straight win.
